Sergeant Anthony Hodge was born on 12 may, 1984, in Gainesville, Fla.  He enlisted in the Marine Corps and reported for Recruit Training at Paris Island, SC on 29 July 2002.  Upon completion of recruit training he reported to the School of Marine combat training, Camp Lejeune, NC.  In December of 2002 he reported to Field Radio Operators Coarse (FROC). in 29 Palms, CA.

In March 2003 Sergeant hodge reported for duty at 9th communication Battaliion, at Camp Pendleton, CA.  Sergeant hodge served as a field radio operator in bravo company and was instrumental in many field operatiions preparing the battalion for deployment utilitzing many forms of communication assets such as very high frequency, high frequency and satellite communications.  

In July of 2004 Sergeant Hodge received orders to the 11th Marine Expeditionary unit (MEU) where he executed six months of “work ups” which enabled the unit to be most effective and earn the title of “SOC” (Special operations capable) 

In August of 2004, he deployed with the 11th MEU (SOC) to najaf Province in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom ll.  Upon arrival in country Sergeant Hodge stood out as one of the most proficient communicators in the unit thus leading him to be assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1/4.  Sergeant Hodge was specifically assigned to Headquarters of Charlie Company where he then provided a vital link between the company and higher headquarters.

In 2005, he deployed with the 11th MEU (SOC) in Operation Iraqi Freedom lll.  Sergeant Hodge was assigned to the Martime special purpose force (MSPF) where he held the billet of communications chief. 

In October of 2006, Sergeant Hodge returned to 9th Communication Battalion and held the billet of Platoon Sergeant.  In march of 2007, he received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) where he served the additional MOS of 0911 (Drill Instructor).  Sergeant Hodge immediately stood out amongst his peers and was selected to the billet of Experienced Drill Instructor (EDI).  Upon three successful platoons of recruits graduated Sergeant Hode was selected to the billet of Senior Drill Instructor where he personally processed up to 500 Marines and recruits in and out of the Marine Corps. 

In June of 2010, Sergeant Hodge reported for duty at 1st Battalion 5th Marines, Camp Pendleton, CA where he served the billet of Platoon Sergeant.  In April of 2011, he reported Wounded Warrior Battalion (west) where he began the medical board process for retirement. 

In June of 2012, Sergeant Hodge was medically discharged from the military; he immediately began to search for ways he could continue to serve his country, that’s when he heard about The Mission Continues.  he attended Charlie Class orientation and shortly after he began his fellowship at the boys and girls club in Los Angela’s CA.  his goals are to attend Vanguard University and obtain a degree in the mental health field.  He also plans to set the bar for all fellows in hopes to better the world and hpefully become a part of The Mission Continues Staff.
